PURPOSE: A computer system capable of an installation of PC card and booting method thereof are to perform the booting of a computer system using a PC card in a computer system which the PC card is installed. CONSTITUTION: A computer system comprises: a system processor; a memory (120) to be electrically coupled to the system processor; a BIOS; a PCMCIA adaptor (140); and a PC card (210) including a non-volatile memory and a boot record having a data segment for storing the hardware composition of the computer system and a code segment, wherein the BIOS initializes the computer system and loads the boot record to the memory (120), and the boot record having a system file for setting the initial condition of the computer system and a user identification cord. Thereby, the circumstance of the system which uses are requested is set easily.
