PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer for providing superior storage stability without using a metallic salt and also provide a pressure-sensitive material using the developer. SOLUTION: A pressure-sensitive recording material is composed of a pressure-sensitive recording developer comprising a (poly)4-hydroxy benzoate derivative having a structure represented by an esterification reactive formation of a carboxylic acid component (A) containing a (poly)4-hydroxy benzoic acid represented by the formula (In the formula, (p) is 0-2) as an essential component and another monovalent carboxylic acid and/or a bivalent carboxylic acid as an optional component with a polyvalent alcohol component (B) containing a trivalent or more alcohol as an essential component and a bivalent low molecular alcohol as an optional component, a microcapsule coloring agent and a base with the developer and the coloring agent formed into a laminar shape. |
