PURPOSE: A colored spherical fine particle, its preparation method and a cosmetic material containing the fine particle are provided, to improve UV screening efficiency, spreading property and coverage. CONSTITUTION: The colored spherical fine particle is obtained by clathrating an organic and/or inorganic pigment whose surface is coated with a hydrated metal compound with an inorganic porous wall material. Preferably the colored spherical fine particle has a diameter of 0.1-50 micrometers. The method comprises the steps of adding an organic and/or inorganic pigment whose surface is coated with a hydrated metal compound to an aqueous solution containing at least one inorganic compound selected from silicates, carbonates and phosphates of an alkali metal and halides and nitrates of an alkaline earth metal to prepare a dispersion; and an aqueous solution of at least one selected from the group consisting of halides of an alkaline earth metal, inorganic acids, organic acids, ammonium salts of an inorganic acid or an organic acid, and carbonates of an alkali metal is added to the dispersion before or after the dispersion is added to an organic solvent whose solubility to water is 8% or less to form a W/O emulsion. |
