Automotive pulley drive system incorporates one-way clutch extending belt service life

The pulley drive system has an inner element (40) fixed to a shaft (3) and a cylindrical outer element (7a) brought into contact with the inner element so that they are concentric. A free engine clutch has a middle axle area with which the outer element is brought into contact creating a torque between the outer and inner elements. An assembly transmits rotary action via especially a one-way clutch, and which can be used as a powered pulley wheel on the end of a shaft or an alternating current generator, or forming part of a starter motor.
