PURPOSE: A system for servicing a present messenger and a method for operating the system are provided to increase a selling amount by transmitting contents requested by a client to a present provider exactly and enabling the provider to order the corresponding commodity the moment the provider receives the contents. CONSTITUTION: A client searches each displayed commodity and selects a commodity to be bought(S101). The client may select a direct purchase. If the client wishes to receive the commodity at a special date, the client may select a present messenger service(S102). If a present messenger service is selected, the client inputs necessary information in each input space of a dialogue box being displayed in a web page(S103). A message transmitting server is linked with a message temporarily storing DB and checks the corresponding identification code of a messenger service company of a commodity provider out of contents of a message transmitted to the DB, and transmits the message to the commodity provider's PC(S104). If the commodity provider's PC is turned on, the message is transmitted(S106). If the commodity provider checks the message of the client, and may approve a supply of the commodity(S107). The approval is informed to the messenger service company, and the commodity provider pays a price of the commodity and the commodity is delivered to the client(S108).
