The fastening consists of a flat housing (1) containing a pair of pistons (7, 8) with parallel springs (14, 15) to actuate the jaws of a boot sole clamp. The pistons are connected by a plate (20) which can be actuated by control arms (24, 25) so that the pistons can be moved together or separately, at least for part of their travel. The control arms are operated magnetically by the boot to give a fastening with asymmetrical resistance to release.
