The employee suggestion manager client/server system maintains the identity of an employee confidential during the submission and approval process. Financial and logistics information, needed to complete a proposal, can be requested anonymously using the system. A submission editor provided by an HTML interface on a corporate intranet is the main area where an employee starts and creates a suggestion. The user fills in a questionnaire identifying the type of idea, such as cost savings, revenue generating, new product/service, safety, customer suggestion, etc., as well as the department to benefit, the departments involved in implementation, any obstacles to be overcome to achieve the gains of the idea, a full description of implementation, the current state of how things are done, and a cost analysis. The editor checks the completeness of the proposal submission and indicates financial viability to avoid submission of incomplete or non-viable proposals. An indication of employee compensation under any compensation program offered by the employer can also be provided at the time of preparation of the proposal.
