The invention relates to a method for neutralising odours in the air in a no n- toxic manner. According to the inventive method, a special odour-masking composition is distributed or atomised. Said composition contains at least o ne odour-masking constituent (A) selected from terpenes, maize starch, manganes e salts, ethereal oils and polyvinylpryrrolidone. The invention also relates t o odour-masking compositions used in the method, and the use of said compositions for reducing odours.
