PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a black ceramic sintered body with low thermal expansion, having a black color, having extremely low thermal expansion at room temperature, and high rigidity and high comparable rigidity, and further to provide a production method thereof. SOLUTION: This black ceramic sintered body with low thermal expansion has a chemical composition within the range of 8.0-17.2 wt.% MgO, 22.0-38.0 wt.% Al2O3, 49.5-65.0 wt.% SiO2, 0.1-2 wt.% total of one or more kinds of transition elements expressed in terms of oxide, and 0.1-2.5 wt.% Li2O, and is regulated so that the weight ratio of the chemical composition may satisfy the formulas (SiO2-8×Li2O)/MgO>=3.0, and (SiO2-8×Li2O)/Al2O3>=1.2. |
