<p>A method and apparatus for disabling communications of a first mode to a device capable of multi-mode communications. A request to disable communications of a first mode is generated by the communication device, either manually or automatically, and transmitted to a mobile switching center. The mobile switching center modifies a data record, located at a home location register, corresponding to the requesting communication device. The modification disables communications of the specified mode to the communication device.</p> |
