PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a short arc type high pressure discharge lamp used for a digital projection technology. SOLUTION: The interval L (mm) between both end parts 6a and 8c, facing each other, of a cathode 6 and an anode 8 while a lamp is heated, is provided by a relational expression0.8×P<=L<=1×P+1 (where, P is lamp's electric power (kW)). The diameter D (mm) of a cylindrical central part 8a of the anode 8 is given by a relational expression D>=2.1×L+10. |
