PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, in which a small piezoelectric blank plate can be beveled and worked surely, with satisfactory efficiency. SOLUTION: In the method, the small piezoelectric blank plate constituting a piezoelectric vibrator is beveled and worked; a chemical etching process is executed before its beveling the working operation, a free surface is generated on the blank plate, and the blank plate is then beveled and worked; specifically, where it is large in difference from working procedure for a strip quartz piece in the conventional cases, etching process is executed also before its beveling and working operation; and actually, (1) after a frequency-adjusting lapping operation has been executed, (2) the outer shape of a small piece in units of individual vibration blank plates is finished, (3) the corner of each blank plate is removed by a heavy etching operation, (4) a curved surface is worked on the main face and the side face of the blank plate by a beveling and working operation, and (5) an etching and working process is conducted. |
