Three dimensional adhesive materials and sealing materials, as well as the process for producing them

Production of an adhesive material or sealing material having a defined cross-sectional geometry and 3-D structure comprises application of a polymerizable composition onto a sheet-like, non-adhesive substrate having at least one depression in its longitudinal direction of the desired cross-sectional contour or filling at least one contour forming, non-adhesive hollow article of the desired cross-sectional contour and curing. A process for the production of an adhesive material (Ia) or sealing material (Ib) having a defined cross-sectional geometry and 3-D structure, preferably in the form of rolls or endless materials comprises: (a) preparation of a polymerizable composition; (b) application of the composition onto a sheet-like, non-adhesive substrate having at least one depression in its longitudinal direction of the desired cross-sectional contour or filling at least one contour forming, non-adhesive hollow article of the desired cross-sectional contour and; (c) addition of a hardening unit into the composition to cause hardening. An independent claim is included for the resulting adhesive material (Ia) or sealing material (Ib).
