PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laundry drier by which matters to be dried can be dried in a shorter time. SOLUTION: A washing and drying machine 100 is provided with a housing chamber 10 for housing laundry articles (the matters to be dried) to carry out drying operation of the matters to be dried in the housing chamber 10. The machine 100 is provided with: a coolant circuit 20 obtained by successively piping and connecting a compressor 21, a gas cooler 22, an expansion valve 23, an evaporator 24, etc. in a ring state; an air circulation path 72 for circulating air from the gas cooler 22 to the evaporator 24 through the inside of the housing chamber 10 by a blower 75; and a subcooler 160 for cooling a coolant outputted from the gas cooler 22 in the coolant circuit 20 by a coolant outputted from the evaporator 24.
