HOLLOW FAN BLADE FOR GAS TURBINE ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a well-known defect of a hollow fan blade. SOLUTION: The hollow fan blade for a turbo fan gas turbine engine is formed of two separate single halves. Each single half has a plurality of cavities and ribs which are formed by machining for weight reduction. These single halves are continuously bonded and a blade shape is provided by forming work. The ribs are oriented and deviated so as to provide smooth change between regions and rigidity required in a section having a different fan blade.
