PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a man conveyor such as an escalator capable of suppressing an occupation space to a small space when installing it by reducing width of a truss. SOLUTION: This man conveyor is constituted in such a way that a row 12 of steps constituted by connecting many steps 10 through a chain 11 in an endless manner are stored in the truss 2, a handrail panel 4 is erected through a lower part deck 6 along a side part of an upper part of the truss 2, an endless handrail belt 5 is mounted on the handrail panel 4, the row 12 of steps runs in an endless manner in the truss 2 through a power device 23, and the handrail belt 5 runs in an endless manner in synchronization with the row 12 of steps by a driving device 35 operating in interlocking relationship with the power device 23. The handrail belt 5 runs in an endless manner by pulling it in from an upper fringe part of the handrail panel 4 into the lower part deck 6 and letting it pass an upper side of its side part so that it is overlapped on the side part of the truss 2 in a plan view.
