<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily generate music data of the music in which octave rendition is introduced. <P>SOLUTION: When an application program for music editing is to be executed on a PC, a user is to generate MIDI note events, that indicate pitch of the sound to be generated and sound generating timing, in accordance with the bar being inputted on a piano role score 41 by the user and the user is to make an instruction to add a bar 45 on the piano role score 41, a bar 46, which indicates the sound related to the bar and the octave sound whose pitch is made different for one octave to the higher sound side or the lower sound side, is automatically added with the bar 45.
