COMPONENT ASSEMBLY OPERATION SUPPORT SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide guidance so that components are assembled correctly during an assembly operation.

SOLUTION: An assembly operation for a product comprising a plurality of components A-G is supported. The components A-G have respective component IC tags Ta-Tg attached thereto for recording component codes characteristic of the components. An assembly instruction 100 has instruction IC tags TTa-TTg affixed to its portions describing the components, and the component codes characteristic of the components are recorded therein. A component confirmation device 200 communicating with each IC tag by radio is given the function of determining whether the component codes read from the component IC tags Ta-Tg match the component codes read from the instruction IC tags TTa-TTg, and of reporting the result. Since an assembler can confirm that the particular component matches the particular component on the assembly instruction 100, the components are prevented from being mixed up.
