<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for collecting engineering knowledge which is present in skillful engineers' heads as semi-tacit knowledge and said to be difficult to collect. <P>SOLUTION: This system comprises an engineering knowledge scenario registration means registering a constitution scenario constituting engineering knowledge for machinery manufacturing, machining or machine assembling; an engineering knowledge collection and storage means collecting and storing engineering knowledge necessary for machinery manufacturing, machining or machine assembling, including multimedia information such as dynamic image data or static image data based on the knowledge scenario; an engineering knowledge filter means selectively extracting the semi-tacit knowledge of skillful engineers, under display of a three-dimensional image, and only data and knowledge necessary as engineering knowledge based on the knowledge scenario; and an engineering knowledge information element storage means accumulating extracted data as information element pieces.
