PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feed cassette capable of detecting the slide position to a main container of a guide plate irrespective of the slide position to the main container of a sub container. SOLUTION: In the paper feed cassette 10, by a slide blocking mechanism 100, a paper sheet rear end guide 30 does not slide from the most proximal side to the distal side of a sub container 22 while the sub container 22 is drawn from the most distal side to the proximal side of a main container 18. When the sub container 22 is drawn from the most distal side to the proximal side of the main container 18, the slide position of the paper sheet rear end guide 30 to the main container 18 is detected by detecting the slide position of the sub container 22 to the main container 18.
