One electrical contact is connected to a plug-in connector of an arcing chamber. A semi-automatic type coupler includes balls that cooperate with a groove and a push rod to maintain the bar in a connected position during assembling and disassembling of the contacts. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a circuit breaker comprising a connecting system. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for connecting an arcing chamber of a high voltage circuit breaker and a busbar of a gas insulated switchgear. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The system facilitates easy disconnection of the arcing chamber of the circuit breaker in order to reduce interruption time for preventive or corrective maintenance of the chamber. The semi-automatic type coupler maintains the bar in the connected position during assembling and disassembling of the electrical contacts, thus preventing undesirable rising of the bar when the bar connections are subjected to vibratory stress or electrodynamic forces.
