A base station for transmitting mobile user equipment specific information in a cellular communication system is described. The base station comprises: means for combining mobile user equipment specific information for a plurality of mobile user equipment to generate combined mobile user equipment specific information; means for encoding the combined mobile user equipment specific information; and means for transmitting the combined mobile user equipment specific information in a single resource allocation.
