<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bipolar battery capable of improving battery performance by suppressing elution of collector foil for the bipolar battery. <P>SOLUTION: This bipolar battery uses a lithium-transition metal composite oxide, a carbon or lithium-transition metal composite oxide and a gel electrolyte material for a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode active material and an electrolyte, respectively. Stainless steel containing 16-26 mass% of Cr and 0.5-7.0 mass% of Mo is used for the collector foil.
