<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a receiving signal sampling rate while maintaining a degree of accuracy in establishing a synchronization. <P>SOLUTION: A synchronous timing detector 18 is equipped with correlators 181a, 181b that generate correlation values C<SB>I</SB>(t), C<SB>Q</SB>(t) between input signals I<SB>D</SB>(t), Q<SB>D</SB>(t) which have been sampled; interpolating filters 184a, 184b that generate interpolation values C2<SB>I</SB>(t) and C2<SB>Q</SB>(t) using a plurality of the correlation values C<SB>I</SB>(t), C<SB>Q</SB>(t) different in combinations of input signal sampling points; and a maximum value selector 186 and a threshold value determination unit 187 for detecting a synchronous timing based on the correlation values C<SB>I</SB>(t), C<SB>Q</SB>(t) and the interpolation values C2<SB>I</SB>(t), C2<SB>Q</SB>(t). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
