DYNAMIC BAND ALLOCATION METHOD, AND STATION SIDE APPARATUS AND SUBSCRIBER SIDE APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dynamic band allocation method appropriate to a PON (Passive Optical Network) system including a plurality of subscriber side apparatuses transmission rates in UP directions which differ from each other, and to provide a station side apparatus and the subscriber side apparatus for the method.

SOLUTION: A data amount desirably transmitted in the UP direction from the subscriber side apparatus is converted into a transmission time equivalent value by taking an UP transmission rate of the subscriber side apparatus into account, and the station side apparatus dynamically allocates a band on the basis thereof. This conversion may be executed by the station side apparatus or the subscriber side apparatus.
