PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barge capable of being also used for the removal of a bridge over a relatively small river, and a bridge removal method. SOLUTION: Characteristically, this barge for the construction of the bridge, which is used for the removal of the bridge at least partially installed over the river, comprises: a barge fixing means for fixing the barge for the construction of the bridge in a prescribed place; a supporting and hoisting/lowering means which is installed on the barge for the construction of the bridge, which abuts on the lower section of the bridge so as to support it, and which enables the bridge to move upward and downward after being cut off; and a supporting means for preventing the barge from being sunk by the self-weight of the barge for the construction of the bridge.
