<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste water treatment apparatus and method which can realize a reduction of offensive odors generated by the biological treatment of organic waste water with sufficient efficiency and at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The waste water treatment apparatus comprises a pretreatment means 12 which separates and removes foreign matters and suspended solids contained in the organic waste water, a biological treatment means 14 which treats the organic wastewater from the pretreatment means 12 biologically with sludge, a sludge return passage (L7, L9, L10) which returns at least a part of sludge contained in the biologically treated liquid discharged from the biological treatment means 14 to both or either of the pretreatment means 12 and the biological treatment means 14, and a bacillus species dominating means 20 which treats at least a part of the sludge returned by the sludge return passage so that bacillus bacteria become a dominant species. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
