<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight and costs by downsizing a supporting plate portion of a plate constituting a part of a casing, in a door lock device for a vehicle, which comprises an inside handle lever supported by the supporting plate portion of the casing, an open lever turnably supported on the casing, and a childlock mechanism for switching between the transmission and interception of a door-opening operating physical force between the inside handle lever and the open lever. <P>SOLUTION: The childlock mechanism 32 comprises: an intermediate lever 33 which is connected to the open lever 27 and turnably attached to the supporting plate portion 13b; a child link 34 which can switch between the connection and disconnection of the intermediate lever 33 and the inside handle lever 30; and a child lever 35 which has an operating knob 36 and which is connected to the child link 34.
