PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a crack length on a fatigue sensor or the like highly accurately at a distance. SOLUTION: In order to estimate the degree of a fatigue damage of a structure, a metal foil 2 with a slit 2b on the fatigue sensor 1 is fixed on the structure on both side positions sandwiching the slit 2b. A plurality of strain gages S are stuck beforehand on the side of an elongation of the slit 2b on the metal foil 2. The crack 2c length from the slit 2b on the fatigue sensor 1 is detected at a distance based on an output signal from each strain gage S. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
