PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply provide a structure in which re-lighting is easy and which is required for that. SOLUTION: This structure has a pair of electrodes (6, 7) in a light emitting part (2), mercury of 0.15 mg/mm<SP>3</SP>or more is sealed, a part of external electrodes (4) is arranged with a minute gap at one part of the outer surface of a discharge lamp (1), and the discharge in this external electrode (4) is a surface discharge or an aerial discharge in which a dielectric body is not interposed.
