[PROBLEMS] To efficiently extract at least the same level of electric power energy as that by conventional power generation system without the occurrence of problems attributed to fuel resources. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The power generation system is one comprising carbon dioxide producing unit (81); noncombustion power generation unit (82); primary liquefied carbon dioxide producing unit (83) for liquefying the carbon dioxide (35) discharged from the carbon dioxide producing unit; secondary liquefied carbon dioxide producing unit (90); and carbon dioxide engine (1) having the primary liquefied carbon dioxide producing unit and secondary liquefied carbon dioxide producing unit connected thereto, wherein the secondary liquefied carbon dioxide producing unit (90) consists of refrigeration section (57), carbon dioxide liquefaction sections (69a,69b), carbon dioxide isolation section (71) and liquefied carbon dioxide storage tank (73), these sections connected to each other to thereby provide circuit (34) for circulation of carbon dioxide, and wherein the noncombustion power generation unit (82) is adapted to supply electric power to the primary liquefied carbon dioxide producing unit and secondary liquefied carbon dioxide producing unit, and wherein the carbon dioxide engine (1) is an engine worked by expansion of the volume of carbon dioxide (35a) supplied in the condition of high pressure, by which power generation is carried on. |
