PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous fluoropolymer dispersion excellent in foaming suppression without largely impairing mechanical stability and viscosity rise suppression. SOLUTION: In this aqueous fluoropolymer dispersion wherein particles each made of a fluoropolymer are dispersed in an aqueous medium under presence of a specific nonionic surfactant, the specific nonionic surfactant comprises a compound wherein average total content of a hydrophilic group is 45-90 mass%, a hydrocarbon group of the compound constituting the specific nonionic surfactant is only continuously adjacent 1-5C hydrocarbon group, and fluorine-containing surfactant concentration of the aqueous fluoropolymer dispersion is equal to or less than an amount corresponding to 500 ppm of a solid content of the fluoropolymer.
