PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure having an optionally shaped solid base material surface coated with silica, a structure having the coating layer further containing a metallic ion, a metallic nanoparticle and an organic dye molecule and a method of simply and efficiently manufacturing the structure. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the nanostructural complex coating type structure includes a step (1) for dipping a solid base material in a solution containing a polymer having a polyethylene imine skeleton and after taking out, forming a polymer layer on the surface of the solid base material, and a step (2) for bringing the solid base material having the resultant polymer layer into contact with a silica source liquid to deposit silica in the polymer layer on the solid base material surface to form a nanostructural complex. The nanostructural complex coating type structure has a solid base material surface coated with the nanostructural complex containing the polymer having the polyimine skeleton and silica.
