<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent irregularities in an image due to movement of a color material and development of gloss in a non-image part on a recording medium and to improve high speed transferring performance in a transfer recording method. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming method includes steps of: forming a solid or a semi-solid solution state processing agent layer comprising a processing agent containing at least one kind of solid particles on an intermediate transfer body; dripping ink formed into droplets onto a surface of the processing layer formed on the intermediate transfer body according to image data; and image transferring to a recording medium from the intermediate transfer body with a surface temperature of the intermediate transfer body less than the melting point of the solid particles, wherein the surface roughness (Ra) of the processing agent layer formed on the intermediate transfer body is higher than the particle diameter of the color material contained in the ink. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
