<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stainless steel spring wire which is easy to manufacture and can be used as a hydrogen resistant spring material hardly causing hydrogen embrittlement and capable of stable use under a high pressure hydrogen gas atmosphere and also to provide a spring product. <P>SOLUTION: The stainless steel spring wire is characterized in that: it is composed of austenitic stainless steel which consists of, by mass, ≤0.08% C, ≤1.0% Si, 4.0 to 15.0% Mn, 5.0 to 15.0% Ni, 18.0 to 25.0% Cr, 0.5 to 3.0% Mo, 0.3 to 0.8% N and the balance essentially Fe with inevitable impurities and in which the value of V represented by equation A=0.65Cr+0.98Mo+1.05Mn+0.35Si+12.5(C+N)+Ni is regulated to 30.0 to 40.0%; cold working is applied in such a way that tensile strength becomes 1,000 to 2,000 MPa and yield ratio, represented by a ratio between the tensile strength and 0.2% yield strength, ranges from 60 to 90%; and its lattice crystal structure has a face-centered cubic crystal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
