<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for preventing other users from accessing a storage area allocated to each user when a plurality of users share a storage device externally attachable to a host computer. <P>SOLUTION: This storage device is removably connectable to the host computer and comprises storage areas allocated to the plurality of users respectively.
