The present invention relates to a lightweight type fuel cell stack which is capable of lightening weight of a fuel cell stack by connecting the fuel battery cells using a connecting string made of fibers when connecting fuel battery cells, and a method for assembling the lightweight type fuel cell stack. In a fuel cell stack in which a plurality of fuel battery cells (10) are stacked, and the fuel battery cells (10) are electrically connected, a lightweight type fuel cell stack according to the present invention further comprises end plates (21) which are respectively disposed at the top and the bottom of the fuel battery cells (10) which are stacked to one another, and a connecting string (31) which connects an assembly of the stacked fuel battery cells (10) and the end plates (21). A method for assembling a lightweight type fuel cell stack according to the present invention comprises a pressurizing step of respectively disposing end plates (21) on the top and the bottom of the fuel battery cells (10) which are electrically connected and stacked to one another, and applying pressure to the end plates (21), a connecting step of coiling a connecting string (31) around the end plates (21) and the fuel battery cells (10) such that the connecting string (31) encircles the end plates (21) and the fuel battery cells (10) in different directions at different positions, thereby connecting the end plates (21) with the fuel battery cells (10), and a pressure relieving step of relieving the pressure applied to the end plates (21). |
