According to an embodiment of the present invention, a polarizing plate includes a laminate produced by laminating a resin substrate having a percentage of water absorption more than or equal to 0.2% and less than or equal to 3.0% and a glass transition temperature more than or equal to 60°C on one side of a polyvinyl alcohol-based film having a thickness less than or equal to 30 μm. Dyeing treatment and stretching treatment including at least in-boric-acid-solution stretching are performed in the laminate. The polyvinyl alcohol-based film functions as a polarizing film, and the resin substrate functions as a protective film for the polarizing film. |
