The present invention relates to a clutch for an automatic transmission, having a structure additionally engaged depending on an operational pressure as well as frictional force with respect to a disc, thereby transferring drive force. According to the present invention, the clutch for an automatic transmission has a plurality of discs (11a, 12a) installed on a drum (11) and a hub (12), respectively, and arranged to overlap each other and allows rotational force to be transferred in such a manner that the discs (11a, 12a) are compressed by a main piston (15) when hydraulic pressure is applied. The main piston (15) includes a sub-piston (16) installed to slide in the axial direction of a shaft of the automatic transmission and selectively engaged with one side of the hub (12). When hydraulic pressure applied to the main piston (15) is over a set pressure, the sub-piston (16) is engaged with one side of the hub (12). |
