Disclosed are an apparatus for controlling a stop position of a train and a method in the present invention. The apparatus predicts a state change of a train on the basis of various predicting methods such as a feedforward, Kalman filter method and a model predictive control technique, and controls the size of and a time to apply power to the train on the basis of the predicted result, thereby improving the accuracy of controlling the right stop position of the train. The apparatus comprises: a braking management unit generating a control input signal for predicting the state change of the train; and a power calculation unit determining the power transmitted to the train on the basis of the control input signal.
