A fastening device is disclosed. The fastening device has a housing having a receptacle that receives a coupler of an operating table device and a locking member connected to the housing and movable relative to the housing between a locked position and an unlocked position. The locking member retains the coupler in the receptacle in the locked position, and the locking member releases the coupler from the receptacle in the unlocked position. The fastening device also has a resilient member that urges the locking member toward the locked position, an actuation member that moves the locking member from the locked position to the unlocked position, and a ratchet assembly that maintains the locking member in the unlocked position.

1. An operating-table-side fastening unit for fastening a device for supporting a patient, who is to be x-rayed, during an operation to an operating table,
with a base body (202), which has a receptacle (204) for receiving a coupling element (402) of a device-side fastening unit (400) fastenable to the device (12, 14), with a locking bar (206) fastened to the base body (202) movably relative to said base body, wherein, in a locked position, the locking bar (206) prevents the coupling element (402) from being removed from the receptacle (204), and, in an unlocked position, allows the coupling element (402) to be removed from the receptacle (204), a resilient element (208) which preloads the locking bar (206) in the locked position, an actuation element (214) for the manual moving of the locking bar (206) from the locked position into the unlocked position, and with a ratchet mechanism (240) for holding the locking bar (206) in the unlocked position, wherein the ratchet mechanism (240) holds the locking bar (206) in the unlocked position, when a coupling element (402) is arranged in the receptacle (204) and the locking bar (206) has been moved by means of the actuation element (214) into the unlocked position, at least until the coupling element (402) has been removed from the receptacle (204) or the actuation element (214) has been actuated again.
