PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image of a high resolution with less density fluctuation by performing soft press contact development. SOLUTION: A feeding member 26 is formed of a foamed member, and when denoting sell concentration in a surface layer part on this foamed member as (d) (unit/mm), peripheral speed of a toner carrier 32 as V1 (mm/sec.), the peripheral speed of the feeding member as V2 (mm/sec.), contact pressure between the toner carrier 32 and the feeding member 26 as (f) (gf/mm), this developing device is constituted so as to satisfy the next expression: 10<=(d)*(f)*(V1+V2)/V1<=200. In such a manner, the developing device which is small-sized and inexpensive, capable of performing the soft press contact development, and forming the image of the high resolution with less density fluctuation can be provided. |
