PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of monitoring an operating event of a combustion engine.SOLUTION: The method includes receiving a noise signal sensed by a knock sensor 23 disposed in or proximately to a combustion engine 10, correlating the noise signal with a fingerprint having at least a first ADSR envelope indicative of the operating event, and detecting if the operating event has occurred on the basis of the correlation of the noise signal with the fingerprint.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
