[Also in Division C2] A preparation for the X-ray visualisation of body cavities comprises at least one compound of the formula (I): wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are each acyl of no more than 5 carbon atoms, A is C 3-20 alkylene substituted by one or more -OR groups and optionally broken by one or more oxygen bridges, where R is H or alkyl or acyl of no more than 5 carbon atoms, or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof, in admixture carrier.
