Non-poisonous stabilisers for resins contg. polyvinyl(idene)chloride consist of 94.8-98.2 wt.% of di-n-octyltin S,S'-bis(isooctylmercaptoacetate, 1.8-5% of a mixt. of mono-n-octyltin S,S',S"-tris(isooctylmercaptoacetate) and tri-n-noctyltin S-isooctylmercaptoacetate (where the mono-octyl cpd. pref. forms the whole or the greater part of this component), is not > 0.15% of di(2-ethylhexyl)tin S,S'-bis(isooctylmercaptoacetate), is not > 0.1% of all other organotin cpds. and is not > 10 pts. per million (ppm) of the elements arsenic, antimony and lead. The stabilised polyvinyl resins can be used in the food industry. |
