PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a clear color image of a color image having excellent uniformity of a solid part by specifying surface tension of color ink and surface tension of recordability improving liquid, and specifying a ratio of giving amount of the improving liquid to giving amount of the ink on a partial area of the image. SOLUTION: In a printer having a carriage 2 for mounting a recording head 1s for discharging recordability improving liquid and recording heads 1k, 1c, 1m and 1y for respectively discharging black, cyan, magenta and yellow inks, surface tension γ1 of color ink is set to 30 dyn/cm<γ1<=40 dyn/cm, and surface tension γ2 of the improving liquid is set to 30 dyn/cm<γ2<=40 dyn/cm. A giving amount X1 of the improving liquid at least on partial area of the image and an ink amount X2 given to the partial area are set to satisfy the relation of X1/X2<1. And, the improving liquid contains compound for insolubilizing or aggregating coloring materials contained in the ink. |
