An hydraulically driven winch drum 1 including the braking arrangement disclosed in the parent Specification 1,141,769 is mounted for radial play, coaxial with the output shaft 6 of an hydraulic motor and has a secondary shaft 18 bolted at 19 to the drum 1 and supported at its other end by a swivel bearing 20 mounted within the drum. The drum 1 is driven by a pin 17 on a flange 4 of the motor drive shaft 6 engaging a recess 2a in an internal flange 2 on the drum, play being provided between the pin and recess, and between a sleeve 5 on the shaft 6 and the flange 2. |
