A motor cycle manual control arrangement comprises a throttle twist grip 2 mounted at the end of a handlebar 1 and connected to the engine, and a lever 3 pivoted to a plug 4 inserted into the end of the handlebar, said lever being connected by means of a sheathed cable 14 to the cycle brakes, and there being a second lever 5 pivoted to the plug and connected by a sheathed cable 16 to the throttle, the arrangement operating such that rotation of grip 1 actuates the throttle alone, whereas actuation of the brake lever also closes down the throttle. Rotation of the twist grip causes a cam surface 2a thereof to contact a nose 5a of lever 5 thus pivoting the lever about pin 6 and actuating throttle cable 16. Actuation of lever 3 causes a pin 7 thereon to pivot lever 5 and thereby operate the throttle. A bolt 9 locks the plug 4 in the handlebar and longitudinally locates the twist grip by passing through a slot 12 therein. |
