A document jacket made of transparent plastics material includes a rear cover 1 which is articulated to a front cover 5 along a transverse fold 4, the rear cover 1 having an integral strip 3 which is folded over the front cover 5 along the spine fold 2 to overlap the front cover to form a transparent pocket 8 for a coloured index strip 9, when the strip 3 is thermowelded to the front cover along a pair of spaced parallel seams 6, 7. The seam 6 may be interrupted intermediate its length to provide a lateral opening for the insertion of a further index strip (not shown) which is retained frictionally between the strip 3 and index strip 9. One end of the pocket 8 may be closed by a transverse thermo-welded seam. In a modification the front and rear covers may be formed from separate sheets which are joined together by a transverse thermo-welded seam replacing the fold 4. |
