A tow line conveyer system comprises a main slot 14 and a shunt slot 16, a switch means 126, constructed and operable as described in the Specification 1,030,732, for diverting a truck having a tow-pin travelling along the main slot 14, into the shunt slot 16, and a contact plate 132 in the slot 16 and pivotally supported on a parallelogram linkage 134, the plate 132 being actuate when a predetermined number of trucks have accumulated in the slot 16 so as to prevent further trucks from being diverted into the slot 16. The plate 132 is connected by a wire 138 to an abutment member 136 normally pivoted to an upright position by a spring so as to co-operate with a trip rod on a truck whereby the rod controls the position of the tow pin and thus the subsequent operation of the switch means 126, as described in the parent Specification. The member 136 is pivoted to a horizontal position by the wire when the plate 132 is moved by a truck tow pin and there is then a predetermined number of trucks in the slot 16. When the member 136 is horizontal the trucks are no longer diverted and continue to move along the main slot 14. |
